'SAM' is a Bot That Continually Evolves Based on Voter Input
'SAM' is touted as "the politician of the future" and she is a virtual politician that can be interacted with via Facebook Messenger. SAM was created to be a representative for all New Zealanders, aiming to "close the gap between what voters want and what politicians promise, and what they actually achieve."
As a virtual AI bot, SAM was made to analyze opinions, values and views equally and continually evolve based on engagement and input from voters. Through the ultra-accessible bot, New Zealanders have the chance to chat with SAM and express their beliefs on everything from education and housing to immigration.
SAM's creator, Nick Gerritsen, says that "The technology we propose would be better than traditional polling because it would be like having a continuous conversation."
